Drivers in British Columbia are being reminded to make sure they’re ready for winter road conditions.

If snow or freezing temperatures are in the forecast, motorists can check DriveBC before setting out, to find out what road conditions to expect.

The Ministry of Transportation and Transit is reminding drivers to stay off the road should conditions worsen and ensure their vehicle is properly equipped with snow tires should they need to travel.

Motorists are also asked to help maintenance crews by moving over safely when they see a vehicle with an amber light approaching to allow crews to clear snow and improve road conditions to reduce hazards for drivers.
