A quarter of Australians admit to using a phone while driving and one in ten have driven with their knees, according to a new national report.
The Safe Driving Report 2018, published by Finder, uncovers the risky behaviors that drivers admit to.
Key findings:
- One in 20 drivers say theyâve had a microsleep behind the wheel
- 38 percent say theyâve eaten take-away food while driving
- 43 percent of âBaby Boomersâ say they have never done anything dangerous while driving
- âGeneration Xâ is the most likely to smoke and drive (25 percent), compared to 20 percent of âBaby Boomersâ and 13 percent of âGeneration Yâ
- 15 percent of women admit to applying makeup behind the wheel
- 25 percent of women admit to reaching into the back seat to deal with children, compared to just 12 percent of men
