CIESC Approves DriversEd.com: For the First Time, Indiana Teens Can Take Their Driver Ed Course Online.

It’s here! Driver’s Ed is online. The Central Indiana Educational Service Center (CIESC) has selected industry leader DriversEd.com as the exclusive provider of their online driver education course.

The DriversEd.com course allows teens seeking their license to take the classroom portion of driver education online. Based on school approval, the Department of Education is allowing the DriversEd.com course to be substituted for the 30 hours of classroom instruction required by high school courses in Indiana.

“Partnering with DriversEd.com allows us to ensure that each of our students is receiving consistent high quality instructional training,” says Tom Pagan, CIESC Executive Director. “The course offers a lot of flexibility and for the first time in the state of Indiana, teens can take the DriversEd.com course on their own computer and at their own pace.”

Indiana teens starting at age 15 are allowed to enroll in an approved drivers education program to start earning their license. The program consists of the equivalent of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training.

The DriversEd.com curriculum provides the in-class instructional portion of driver education all online. The behind-the-wheel practical experience will continue to be provided through the students’ home school. The online drivers education course contains interactive video and animations about real on-the-road scenarios that take into account how teens learn.

DriversEd.com was the first to bring the driver education course online. Since 2003, the course has had over 750,000 graduates. In addition to Indiana, the DriversEd.com driver ed course is licensed and available to first time drivers in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia.
